I just started this blog yesterday and my first science behind the comics post is online! I’ve been thinking about doing this for a very long time now. I wanted to combine the things I learned from studying with making theories about comics. The inspiration for this blog was mainly from different sources. For now I would want to recommend and share the sources that inspired me to make this blog. First of all I just love watching different Youtube channels about science and popular culture, especially Game Theory and Film Theory. I am perplexed by how much inspiration they have to think up such interesting topics. Another Youtube channel that must definitely be mentioned is Because Science! My post about the Human Torch was also inspired by his video about spontaneous human combustion. Recently I’ve been reading an interesting book that also helped me push to get this blog project done. The book “The Physics of Superheroes” by James Kakalios, covers a lot of mainstream physics illustrated by examples from comics. These resources combined with my passion for physics and comics made me to start up this blog. Watching and reading about the science behind comics, movies and games is fun, but doing your own calculations is just so much more fun! I would love to see some reactions and suggestions from you! My next science post will be about Groot meeting with Furnax and it will probably be out somewhere during next week.
